Mr. McCloud begins by talking with the subject or guardian
to get an idea of the individual’s personality and
portrait desires.
Then, a sitting is set up to capture various poses and
expressions. He uses a camera, quick sketches, and color
notes to record the session. Usually this requires two to
three hours.
Returning to the studio and working from the photographs,
notes and sketches creates the client drawing. This is an
important stage to creating a solid foundational drawing
from whence to build upon. During this stage the size and
positioning is established. |
